On April 1, 2016 Chantz Clothing experienced its first runway show. The show took place at Simon Fraser University, Segal building, in downtown Vancouver. It was an absolutely stunning building.
We first applied for the show, and honestly speaking, we had no idea what we were really getting ourselves into. We didn't even think we would be selected, but we were, which was super exciting. We began prepping during the last week of March. This means figuring out music and putting together looks, all while trying juggle school and work.
Finally, the day of the fashion show came, and were we excited? Yes. Were we nervous? Yes. We had no idea what to expect! But, we knew that this experience was something we needed, it's all about the exposure.
We were at the show from 11am until 9pm. It was a long day of prepping, getting the looks ready, figuring out our models, and practicing.
The SFUxFashion week was definitely a stepping stone for Chantz. For me and Annette, it is definitely out of our comfort zones, but we are so happy we did it and pushed through. Being able to see our hard work walking down the runway for the first time is something that will definitely stay in our memories and hearts forever.
We want to give a special shoutout to all the volunteers/workers working the event and helping us through the experience, the models that wore our designs down the runway, and to our friends and family who came out to support us.
